Hello Kitty land Day 3 Onsen-Kobe

Started our day at Umeda which was around 15 minutes walk from our hotel. We found out this shopping area only on the 3rd day. :(

We went into some random restaurant there and had our brunch. The restaurant only sell curry 蛋包饭 and quite oishii :D Was watching “The rooftop prince” K drama these few days and 蛋包饭 remind me of the show. haha

Love this candid shot of weilin because her expression so natural.

I put this photo up because something funny happen here. Weilin was so bz taking the photos of the toilet bowls (see behind) and then this police or security guard enter the toilet. She freaking grinned at us when she saw me camwhoring and weilin taking photos of the toilet bowl. MALU TTM.

Here the picture of the basin. Cool eh, everything in one place, soap, water and dryer.

We bought tickets for the bus to the onsen (hot spring) place at the bus station at Umeda. Transportation is quite expensive there,  I can’t remember exactly how much it was for the 1-hour ride but I think is around 20 sgd? Train is cheaper but  we chose bus because train is a nuisance.  Board the bus and the whole bus were elderly. Then we both like, “later onsen we can only see saggy naked old ppl, not fair.” LOL.

Finally reached and wind was damn big. You must have thought it was so sunny but no it was freaking cold! I even used my heat pack but no use. :(

This shrine look exactly like those in anime.

Dos and don’ts at the onsen

Yar everybody is naked in the onsen. But it turned out not that scary as what we thought. We didn’t see each other la, shy. lol. Met a hong kong mum there and she was in the hot spring with her 2 year old child. So the mother was wearing her clothes after the onsen then her boy ran out of the room naked. haha. freaking cute. The room only got us and I’m the one fully dressed alrdy (the mum was naked). So I offered to bring the kid back for her. While carrying the boy, I was quite scare he pee on me. lol. Adding to the cuteness, the kid ran out twice.

Oh and the Onsen was shiok! Lost 1 kg before and after. Though I know is water weight but still happy lol.

Don’t know what is it called. Mochi texture inside and crispy outside. Super yums.

Dorayaki

See how grumpy weilin was. LOL. I think quite cute eh. haha. Our face would become like this whenever we boarded the train.

Super unhappy that day because we got lost and when we found out, we alighted the train at some ulu train station. Forgot to take a photo of it. Totally no people there and no station counter. The worst thing about it was that we could not switch to the other side to go back because the station required us to go out and then buy ticket again to go in . :( It was freaking windy there and we both kept on whine and whine. No choice but to wait for the next train for another 15 mins on the same direction and change side on another station. And to add to the suayness, my menses came. :(

Finally reached Kobe after about 2 hours on the train ride :(

Dinner at 松屋

Went to the chinatown street there but by the time we reached there most of the shops closed. :(

Back to Umeda again and went to check the shinkansen train tickets for the next day ride to tokyo. Found out we can just buy on the day itself and we decided to walk back to our hotel from umeda rather than a nearer train station to our hotel. Wrong choice because it was freaking 9 degrees Celsius that night. D:

Hello Kitty Land – Day 2 NARA-KYOTO

Wake up super early on day two (seven thirty if i didn’t remember wrongly) because the schedule was super packed. We decided to give up going to a shrine in Kyoto so that we had enough time to travel from place to place. We started off our day at Family Mart for breakfast and then off to Umeda station to Nara.

We dropped off at Nara station and stopped by a tourist information counter to get our map. Only one of them speak English though and she was super helpful. We walked about 15 mins and we saw this deer running on the road. All the car give way to it and apparently ths deer just want to cross to another side to eat the grass.-.- I guess grass really is greener on the other side huh.

LOL. Keep being photo bomb by Weilin throughout the trip. Okay actually I kept photo bomb Weilin’s photo too.

I did not know that we will be of that close proximity to these wild deers in nara park. I knew Nara park got stray deers but I did not know we get to touch and feed them! They are super tame and cute! Check out this deer licking the other deer’s butt! Free ass cleaning service. haha!

The food we bought at some street stall that was used to feed the deers. We ate a bit of the “biscuit” because it looked quite nice. Don’t judge us okay. I saw stalls selling the exact same biscuits for human consumption too just that there was plastic wrapping. The biscuit was quite bland though don’t know why the deers like it so much. They followed us all the way when they saw that we got food for them. Grass why you no nicer than biscuit?

Went in to Todai-Ji temple which was some of the oldest temple in Japan. Magnificent view and it was the nicest temple we saw in Japan throughout this trip. Oh and do you see the black box in the center of the temple? Was supposed to be able to see the Buddha head through the opening but I think morning too bright can’t see clearly.

Lots of students visiting Todaiji and saw a lot of kawaii school boys there. Didn’t take any pctures of them though :( Instead we asked a group of students to take picture with us :D They are very high and enthu when we requested to take a photo with them.

Saw this tree everywhere in Nara park and its flower was so “troll emotion’ worthy. Next time when somebody pissed me off I will use this picture instead.

Our lunch from some subway food kiosk. The taste is so-so only, worst food we had eaten in Japan.

Subway waiting for our train to kyoto. I hate opened train stations. Did I mention Japan was still quite cold even in spring. Day time was like 10 plus degrees and dropped to lowest 9 degrees at night. Before I went there I thought it was like 20 degrees so I bought shorts only and a thin cardigan. Nearly died every night when the wind blows. Okay back to the opened train stations, I hate it because we need to endure the wind blowing while waitng for the train. Not every station has the waiting rooms to keep us warm so yea hate the open air concept.

It started raining when we hopped on to the bus and we saw these school kids. They all have these same school bags which I like so much. I won’t mind bringing this bag to school if it was that chio.

Saw this couple throughout our walk at Kiyomizudera Temple. Both are shuai ge and mei nv. They are like filming some meteor garden so sweet one. On the hindsight. who will wear suit to temple walk other than Japanese?

Walked to Gion street after dinner and this was the time where I nearly died again. Hate windy nights there. Hoping to see Geishas there but lady luck not with us. Headed back shortly after the Gion street. But it did not end here, we still had to deal with the messy subway stations before we got back to our hotel. :(

Day two ended here and Day three we went onsen and kobe. :D

Hello Kitty land Day 1- OSAKA

Went for a 10-days Japan trip 3 days after end of my exams. The 3 days was freaking tiring where I got 5 tuition lining up and still had to plan for itinerary. Our itinerary was not fully plan though but only schedule where we would be going. We planned the route every night, so every night I will start asking Weilin the same question over and over again: Where will we be going tomorrow? haha

Terminal 3

We got to see sunrise on the plane while we having our breakfast <3

Love airplane food :D Mine low calories meal and they provide zero calories sweetener for my coffee.

Lynne’s low fat meal. Mine look nicer lol.

Lynne sleeping after the breakfast I think. Put this picture up because of the stewardess’ butt behind! hahaha

Forever looking for toilet after the flight landing. :/

Kansai airport!  Nice and simple airport, didn’t manage to see any duty-free shops there though.

Getting on the subway to our hotel. THE SUBWAY IN JAPAN IS OUR NIGHTMARE! It is freaking a maze plus the language barrier, we got lost a few times. Totally can’t imagine how people can survive there without knowing japanese.  Lucky I got Lynne who can ask for the directions at least.

Why Singapore MRT no pink gantry?

Dotonbori in Osaka

Only in Japan will there be a whole rack dedicated for hello kitty and one piece.

We got in a pet shop and all the puppy and kittens are so fluffy that I’m going to die! They are like  Disney babies, cuter and smaller version of dogs and cats.

Chopper and Kitty remix!

Okay I shall end my day 1 abruptly here.

Just saying

It’s so hard to come by a friend who had the same interest and thinking. It is these kind of moments that I feel so blessed     and I hope all of them will stay in my life even when we take different route in the future.

Lifelong Commitment

I realized a sad truth that to stay at ideal weight, it is a lifelong commitment. If for 1 week or even 1 day my guilt of eating too much died, I need to run more to compensate for the extra food I eaten. If for that week I got no motivation to run at least 3 times, I need to sacrifice my food. In equation terms it would be like:  1/2Food+3exercises=ideal weight. 2Food+9exercise=ideal weight. Its like Y= b1x1+b2x2 and b2 is forever so much larger than b1.  Sad life. *troll face*

Motivation of dieting, please come back to me.
